Munuaispoiston refers to the surgical removal of a kidney. This procedure, also known as nephrectomy, can be performed for various medical reasons. It may be necessary to treat kidney cancer, a non-functioning kidney due to trauma or disease, or to donate a kidney to someone else.

There are two primary types of nephrectomy: radical nephrectomy and partial nephrectomy. The surgery can be performed using traditional open surgery or minimally invasive techniques such as laparoscopic or robotic surgery. Minimally invasive approaches generally result in smaller incisions, less pain, and a quicker recovery time.

After a nephrectomy, individuals can typically live a normal and healthy life with a single functioning kidney. The remaining kidney usually adapts and enlarges to compensate for the loss of the removed kidney. However, regular medical follow-up is important to monitor kidney function and overall health. Potential risks associated with the surgery include infection, bleeding, and damage to surrounding organs.
