Mumbai Ahmedabad refers to the high-speed rail corridor project connecting the cities of Mumbai and Ahmedabad in India. This ambitious infrastructure initiative is being developed by the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL). The project aims to significantly reduce travel time between India's financial capital, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad, a major economic and industrial hub in Gujarat. Upon completion, the bullet train is expected to cover the distance in approximately two to three hours, a substantial decrease from the current travel time by conventional trains or road.

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) project involves the construction of a 508-kilometer-long corridor. This includes elevated tracks, tunnels, and 12 stations across Maharashtra and Gujarat. The corridor is designed to operate at speeds of up to 320 kilometers per hour, utilizing Shinkansen technology from Japan, which is known for its safety and efficiency. The project also encompasses advanced signaling systems and modern rolling stock.

Funding for the project is a joint effort, with a significant portion of the finance being provided as a low-interest loan by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The MAHSR project is envisioned as a transformative development for the region, expected to boost economic activity, create employment opportunities, and improve connectivity, thereby fostering further growth in both cities and the areas along the route. Despite facing various challenges during its implementation, it remains a flagship project for India's transportation infrastructure development.
