MultiCarrierMIMO

MultiCarrierMIMO is a wireless communication technique that combines the benefits of multicarrier modulation and Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) antenna technology. Multicarrier modulation, such as Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM), divides a wideband channel into many narrowband subchannels. This makes the system more robust to frequency-selective fading and inter-symbol interference, which are common issues in wireless environments.

MIMO, on the other hand, utilizes multiple antennas at both the transmitter and receiver to transmit and receive multiple data streams simultaneously. This spatial multiplexing capability significantly increases the data throughput and spectral efficiency of the communication system.

By integrating these two technologies, MultiCarrierMIMO achieves a high-capacity wireless link that is also resilient to channel impairments. The system can exploit the frequency diversity provided by multicarrier modulation on each of the spatial streams transmitted by the MIMO antennas. This allows for more efficient use of the available radio spectrum.

In practice, MultiCarrierMIMO is implemented by transmitting independent data streams over different antenna pairs on various subcarriers. Signal processing techniques at the receiver are used to separate these streams and combine the information from different subcarriers and antennas to reconstruct the original data.
