Mulasarvastivada
Mulasarvastivada is a school of early Indian Buddhism. Its name can be translated as "the teaching of the root Sarvastivada" or "the Sarvastivada school that possesses the root [teachings]." Their Vinaya texts are known for their detailed narratives and comprehensiveness, often incorporating stories and explanations that go beyond the core rules. These narratives are thought to have served an educational purpose, making the Vinaya more accessible and memorable for monks.
The Mulasarvastivada school developed a significant canon of scriptures, which included a version of the Vinaya
