Muistikorttityypit refer to the various physical formats of flash memory storage devices used in digital cameras, smartphones, and other electronic devices. These cards are designed to be small, portable, and rewritable, offering a convenient way to expand storage capacity. The most common types include SD, microSD, and CompactFlash.

SD (Secure Digital) cards are widely used in a vast array of devices, from cameras and camcorders to laptops and gaming consoles. They come in several variations, including SDHC (High Capacity) and SDXC (eXtended Capacity), which offer progressively larger storage limits and faster data transfer speeds. MicroSD cards are a smaller, more compact version of the SD card, predominantly used in smartphones, tablets, and smaller portable devices. Adapters are often provided to allow microSD cards to be used in standard SD card slots.

CompactFlash (CF) cards are an older, larger format that was once prevalent in professional digital cameras due to their durability and high storage capacities for their time. While largely superseded by faster SD card formats in consumer electronics, CF cards are still found in some professional photography and videography equipment. Newer iterations like CFast and CFexpress offer significantly higher speeds, catering to high-resolution video recording and rapid burst photography.

Beyond these primary types, there are other less common formats like Memory Stick, primarily associated with Sony devices, and xD-Picture Card, which was used in some Olympus and Fujifilm cameras.
