Motornerve
Motornerve, also known as a motor neuron or efferent neuron, is a nerve cell whose cell body is located in the central nervous system or brainstem. It is a nerve that carries information from the central nervous system to muscle or gland tissue. The cell body of a motor neuron is in the spinal cord or brainstem. Dendrites are short, branching extensions of the cell body that receive signals. The axon is a long projection that transmits signals away from the cell body. It terminates at a neuromuscular junction, where it synapses with a muscle fiber.
Motor neurons are responsible for initiating and controlling voluntary muscle movements. They are also involved in
Damage to motor neurons can lead to a variety of conditions, including muscle weakness, paralysis, and atrophy.
