MotoGP
MotoGP is the premier class of motorcycle road racing, part of the FIM Road Racing World Championship. The series is sanctioned by the FIM and promoted by Dorna Sports, with Dorna holding the commercial rights. The premier class was rebranded as MotoGP in 2002, transitioning from the two-stroke 500cc era to four-stroke prototype machines. Since 2012 the class has used 1000cc four-stroke engines. All MotoGP bikes are purpose-built prototypes developed by manufacturers and not available for sale to the public.
The competition features three classes: MotoGP, Moto2, and Moto3. Each season comprises a series of Grands Prix
The sport has a global following, with races held across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and other regions.
