Mordødlighet

It concerns the probability and severity of death under specific conditions, and is distinct from related concepts such as overall mortality or non-lethal harm.

Etymology and scope: The word combines mord (murder) with dødlighet (deadliness). It is not as widely standardized as mortality or lethality in scientific usage, and its definition can vary by study. In some contexts it functions similarly to lethality, focusing on the likelihood that a given act or set of circumstances will be fatal.

Measurement and usage: Mordødlighet is typically operationalized through indicators such as case-fatality ratios, conditional risk estimates, or lethality indices within risk assessment frameworks.
