Mononchid

Mononchid is a common name referring to a group of small, predatory nematodes belonging to the order Mononchida. These roundworms are found in a variety of terrestrial and aquatic environments worldwide, with a particular abundance in soil. Their defining characteristic is the presence of a prominent, hollow tooth located within the anterior part of their buccal cavity. This tooth is used to pierce the cuticle of other organisms, which they then consume.
