Mongolija
Mongolia is a landlocked country located in East Asia between Russia and China. It is the world's 18th-largest country by area and the least densely populated sovereign country. The capital and largest city is Ulaanbaatar. Mongolia's economy is largely based on extensive agriculture, particularly sheep and cattle herding. The country has substantial mineral wealth, including copper, coal, gold, and uranium, and foreign investment in mining has been increasing. Mongolia's history is deeply intertwined with the Mongol Empire, established by Genghis Khan in the 13th century, which at its height was the largest contiguous empire in history. After the collapse of the empire, Mongolia experienced periods of fragmentation and foreign influence. It became a socialist state in 1924, following the Mongolian Revolution of 1921, and maintained close ties with the Soviet Union until the late 1980s. In 1990, Mongolia transitioned to a democratic, market-oriented political system. The official language is Mongolian, and the script used is Cyrillic. The population is predominantly Buddhist. Mongolia's vast steppes and mountains offer unique landscapes, and its nomadic culture remains a significant aspect of its identity.
