Mondlane is a surname of Mozambican origin most commonly associated with Eduardo Chivambo Mondlane (1920–1969), a Mozambican nationalist and anti-colonial leader who founded and served as the first president of FRELIMO (Frente de Libertação de Moçambique), the main organization that led Mozambique’s struggle for independence from Portuguese rule.
