Mondatrészkapcsolatok refers to the grammatical relationships between parts of a sentence in Hungarian. These connections are crucial for understanding the structure and meaning of a sentence. Broadly, these relationships can be categorized into coordination and subordination.

Coordination links elements of equal grammatical rank. This can occur between words, phrases, or even entire clauses. For example, "Péter és Anna olvasnak" (Peter and Anna are reading) shows coordination between the two subjects, Péter and Anna, linked by the conjunction "és" (and). Similarly, two independent clauses can be joined: "Elmentem a boltba, és vettem tejet" (I went to the store, and I bought milk).

Subordination, on the other hand, connects a dependent clause to an independent clause. The dependent clause cannot stand alone as a complete sentence and relies on the main clause for its full meaning. This relationship is often established through subordinating conjunctions or relative pronouns. An example is "Azt mondta, hogy el fog jönni" (He said that he would come). Here, "hogy el fog jönni" (that he would come) is a subordinate clause dependent on the main clause "Azt mondta" (He said). Another type of subordination is seen in relative clauses: "A könyv, amit olvastam, nagyon érdekes volt" (The book that I read was very interesting). The clause "amit olvastam" (that I read) modifies "A könyv" (The book).
