Moçambique

Moçambique, officially the Republic of Mozambique, is a country located in Southeastern Africa. It is bordered by the Indian Ocean to the east, Tanzania to the north, Malawi and Zambia to the northwest, Zimbabwe to the west, and Eswatini and South Africa to the southwest. The capital and largest city is Maputo. The country's coastline is extensive, stretching for approximately 2,470 kilometers (1,535 miles), and features numerous islands and archipelagos, including the Bazaruto and Quirimbas Archipelagos.

Mozambique's history is rich and complex. It was a Portuguese colony for centuries, gaining independence on June 25, 1975. Following independence, the country experienced a protracted civil war that lasted until 1992. Since then, Mozambique has been working to rebuild and develop its economy and infrastructure.

The population of Mozambique is diverse, with ethnic groups including Makua, Tsonga, Makonde, and Lomwe. Portuguese remains the official language, but various Bantu languages are widely spoken. The economy is largely based on agriculture, with significant contributions from natural resources such as coal, natural gas, and titanium. Tourism is also a growing sector, attracted by the country's beaches and marine life. Mozambique is a member of the African Union, the Commonwealth of Nations, and the Community of Portuguese Language Countries.
