Mitochondriaalisuuteen
Mitochondriaalisuuteen refers to the concept of or state of being related to mitochondria, the organelles found in most eukaryotic cells. These organelles are often referred to as the "powerhouses" of the cell because they generate most of the cell's supply of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), used as a source of chemical energy. Mitochondria have a double membrane structure, with the inner membrane folded into cristae. They contain their own DNA, known as mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA), and ribosomes, allowing them to synthesize some of their own proteins.
The study of mitochondria is a significant area of biological research due to their crucial roles beyond
