Misollardic is a constructed language that forms part of the fictional world surrounding the Misolla Archipelago. It is presented as the ancestral tongue of the island communities and serves as the primary language for literature, media, and daily communication within that setting. The language was developed to be plausible and internally consistent while remaining expressive for storytelling.

Origins and classification: Misollardic emerged in the late 20th century through the efforts of a language designer within the Misolla project. It draws stylistic influence from Romance languages and Atlantic creoles, while introducing distinctive inflection and verb-auxiliary constructions to give it an island-specific character. It is not related to known natural languages outside the fictional world.

Phonology and script: The sound system comprises five vowels and about twenty consonants, with phonotactics favoring open syllables. Stress is typically on the penultimate syllable. The standard writing system uses a Latin-derived alphabet with diacritics; ceremonial texts are also rendered in a separate glyph script.

Grammar and morphology: Misollardic is primarily analytic with agglutinative inflection for tense and case on nouns. The basic word order is SVO, with verbs forming aspect via affixation. Noun phrases include demonstratives and numerals; adjectives generally follow nouns. Personal pronouns attach as clitic endings to the verb.
