Miniatuurkaitselülitid

Miniatuurkaitselülitid, often abbreviated as MCBs, are automatic electrical switches designed to protect an electrical circuit from damage caused by overcurrent or short circuit. They are a crucial component in modern electrical installations, providing a safer and more convenient alternative to traditional fuses.

An MCB operates by mechanically interrupting the flow of current when it detects an abnormal condition. This is typically achieved through a bimetallic strip that bends when heated by excessive current, or an electromagnet that activates a trip mechanism. Once tripped, the MCB must be manually reset by flipping a lever, making it clear when a fault has occurred and requiring attention.
