Mingstyle refers to a specific aesthetic and design sensibility that emerged during the Ming Dynasty in China (1368–1644). This style is characterized by its emphasis on elegance, simplicity, and a refined appreciation for natural forms and materials. It manifested across various art forms, including ceramics, furniture, painting, and architecture.

In ceramics, the Ming style is perhaps most famously represented by blue and white porcelain. These wares feature intricate designs painted in cobalt blue under a clear glaze, showcasing a masterful balance of color and form. Beyond blue and white, other ceramic types like *wucai* (five-color) glazes and *doucai* (dove-colored) ceramics also exemplify the Ming aesthetic with their vibrant yet harmonious palettes.

Ming furniture is renowned for its clean lines, sturdy construction, and the use of fine hardwoods like *huanghuali* and *hongmu*.
