Mindegyike

Mindegyike is a Hungarian pronoun and determiner meaning “each one” or “every single one” of a previously mentioned group. It is used to refer to the individual members within a set, emphasizing that every member is included. In ordinary sentences it commonly acts as the subject or object of the clause, with the verb occasionally agreeing with the group as a whole or with the individual members depending on emphasis.

Forms and usage

The basic form mindegyik is used before a noun to specify each member of the group, as in mindegyik diák (each student) or mindegyikük (each of them). The fused form mindegyike functions as a substantive pronoun meaning “each one of them” and can stand on its own as a noun phrase, for example: A mindegyike megérkezett.
