Mikrouneen

Mikrouneen is a hypothetical class of micro-scale energy conversion devices that would harvest ambient energy from multiple sources, such as mechanical vibrations, light, and temperature gradients. The concept appears in speculative design and futurology discussions as a way to model energy autonomy for distributed sensors and small electronics.

Name etymology: derived from micro- meaning small, and -neen a fictional suffix used in some science fiction and theoretical studies to denote a device.

In proposed models, mikrouneen would integrate a micromachined energy harvesting transducer array, a micro-scale storage element, and a low-power power management circuit. The transducers might combine piezoelectric, photovoltaic, and thermoelectric effects.
