Mikrotechnik
Mikrotechnik, or microtechnology, is a field of engineering focused on devices, systems and processes with characteristic dimensions in the micrometer to millimeter range. It integrates mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, materials science and chemistry to create miniaturized components and systems such as MEMS, microfluidic devices, micro-optical systems and sensor technologies.
Historically, Mikrotechnik emerged from advances in silicon microfabrication and MEMS in the 1980s and 1990s, driven
