Mikropipetid

Mikropipetid refers to very small amounts of liquid, typically in the microliter range. These tiny volumes are crucial in many scientific disciplines, especially in molecular biology, biochemistry, and clinical diagnostics. Precisely measuring and transferring these minute quantities of liquid is essential for accurate experimental results. Without specialized tools, handling such small volumes would be incredibly difficult and prone to significant error.

The primary instrument used for measuring and dispensing mikropipetid is the micropipette. These are adjustable, precision instruments designed to accurately aspirate and dispense liquids from a fraction of a microliter up to a few milliliters. Micropipettes come in various types, including fixed-volume and variable-volume models, and are classified by their volume range (e.g., P2, P20, P100, P200, P1000). They utilize disposable plastic tips to prevent contamination and ensure accuracy, with different tip sizes corresponding to different pipette models. The process involves setting the desired volume, attaching a sterile tip, aspirating the liquid by pressing the plunger to the first stop, dispensing by pressing to the second stop, and finally ejecting the used tip. Accurate use of mikropipetid is fundamental for performing techniques like PCR, DNA sequencing, ELISA, and cell culture.
