Mikrodioder

Mikrodioder are extremely small semiconductor devices, typically manufactured using microfabrication techniques similar to those used for integrated circuits. The term "mikrodioder" is a Swedish compound word, where "mikro" means micro and "dioder" means diodes. Therefore, it directly translates to "microdiodes". These components are essentially miniature versions of conventional diodes, possessing two terminals that allow electric current to flow in only one direction. Their small size makes them ideal for integration into compact electronic systems, miniaturized devices, and high-density circuitry.

The fabrication of mikrodioder often involves processes like photolithography, etching, and deposition of semiconductor materials onto a substrate, typically silicon. This allows for the creation of millions or even billions of these tiny diodes on a single wafer.
