Microsurfaces

Microsurfaces are engineered surfaces characterized by features on the micrometer scale, typically ranging from 1 to 1000 micrometers. These features can be intentionally designed to impart specific functional properties to a material or object. The development of microsurfaces relies on advanced manufacturing techniques such as lithography, etching, molding, and 3D printing.

The primary purpose of creating microsurfaces is to manipulate interactions at interfaces. This can include controlling wettability, adhesion, friction, optical properties, or biological responses.
