Metsä

Metsä is the Finnish word for forest. In Finnish, metsät denote wooded areas and the term is used in everyday language to refer to forests in general, as well as to describe landscapes, land use, and natural habitats. It is a common element in Finnish toponymy and business names.

The word also appears as a corporate brand name; Metsä Group is a major Finnish forest industry company group formed by the Metsäliitto Cooperative. The group operates in pulp, paperboard, tissue, and wood products through its subsidiaries, including Metsä Fibre (pulp), Metsä Board (paperboard), Metsä Wood (lumber and engineered wood), and Metsä Tissue.
