Methylalkylhalonium refers to a hypothetical class of chemical compounds characterized by a positively charged halonium ion where one substituent is a methyl group and the other is an alkyl group. A halonium ion is a three-membered ring containing a halogen atom (such as chlorine, bromine, or iodine) bonded to two carbon atoms, with the halogen bearing a formal positive charge.
