Metüülida

Metüülida is a colloquial term used in some informal contexts to refer to methyl ethyl ketone (MEK). Methyl ethyl ketone, also known as butanone, is an organic compound with the chemical formula CH3COCH2CH3. It is a colorless liquid that is volatile and possesses a sharp, sweet odor. MEK is widely used as an industrial solvent, particularly in the production of coatings, varnishes, lacquers, and adhesives. It is also employed in the manufacturing of plastics and rubber. Due to its effectiveness in dissolving various substances, it finds application in dewaxing lubricating oils and in the extraction of fats, oils, and waxes.

The use of MEK requires caution as it is flammable and its vapors can form explosive mixtures with air. Inhalation of MEK vapors can cause irritation to the eyes, nose, and throat, and prolonged or high exposure may lead to central nervous system depression, headaches, dizziness, and nausea. Skin contact can cause dryness and irritation. Proper ventilation and personal protective equipment are recommended when working with MEK. Despite its common industrial uses, the term "metüülida" is not a formal chemical nomenclature and is more likely to be encountered in practical, hands-on environments rather than in academic or scientific literature.
