Mesopotaamia
Mesopotamia is a historical region in Western Asia situated within the Tigris–Euphrates river system, in the northern part of the Fertile Crescent. It is often referred to as the "cradle of civilization" due to the early development of complex societies there. The earliest known forms of writing, called cuneiform, emerged in Sumer, a region of southern Mesopotamia, around the late 4th millennium BCE.
