Menetméret
Menetméret refers to the specifications of a screw thread, defining its physical dimensions and how it will mate with a corresponding internal or external thread. This includes key parameters such as the major diameter, which is the largest diameter of the thread; the minor diameter, the smallest diameter; and the pitch, which is the distance between adjacent threads. For metric threads, the pitch is typically measured in millimeters. Unified Thread Standard (UTS) threads, common in North America, are specified by diameter and the number of threads per inch (TPI).
The thread form, or the shape of the thread's cross-section, is also a critical aspect of menetméret.
Accurate menetméret is essential for ensuring proper fit, strength, and function of threaded fasteners and components.
