This field is further divided into hydrodynamics, dealing with fluids in motion, and statics, concerning fluids at rest. Quantum mechanics, on the other hand, governs the behavior of matter and energy at the atomic and subatomic levels, where classical principles no longer apply.

Relativistic mechanics, developed by Albert Einstein, addresses objects moving at speeds approaching the speed of light and also describes gravity as a curvature of spacetime.
