Meijijingumae

Meiji-Jingumae is a subway station in Tokyo, Japan. Located in Shibuya Ward, it provides convenient access to the Meiji Shrine and the adjacent Yoyogi Park, an important cultural and ceremonial site in the city. The station is served by Tokyo Metro on two lines: the Chiyoda Line and the Fukutoshin Line. The name Meiji-Jingumae means “in front of Meiji Shrine,” reflecting the station’s proximity to the shrine’s outer precinct.

The station sits near the Harajuku area, with exits directing travelers to Takeshita Street, Omotesando, and the surrounding shopping districts. Although close to Harajuku’s retail and nightlife corridor, Meiji-Jingumae is distinct from the JR Harajuku Station, which is on the Yamanote Line, and the two are not directly connected.

The station is a common entry point for visitors to Meiji Shrine, especially on weekends and during shrine events. It supports accessibility with multiple entrances that lead to different parts of the shrine complex and the nearby parklands.
