Maïwenn

Maïwenn is a French actress, director, and screenwriter. She was born Maïwenn Le Besco on April 17, 1976, in Les Lilas, France. She began her career as a child actress and gained early recognition for her role in the film "L'été meurtrier" (One Deadly Summer) in 1983. Throughout her youth, she worked in film and television.

As a director, Maïwenn made her debut with the documentary "I'm an Actress" in 2004, exploring her own experiences in the film industry. She went on to direct several feature films, including "Charly" (2007), "Le Bal des actrices" (The Ball of Actresses) in 2009, and "Polisse" (2011). "Polisse" garnered critical acclaim and won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. Her subsequent films, such as "Mon roi" (My King) in 2015 and "ADN" (DNA) in 2020, have continued to explore themes of family, relationships, and identity.
