Masvingos
Masvingos refers to a collection of ancient stone ruins located in the Masvingo Province of Zimbabwe. The most prominent of these ruins is Great Zimbabwe, a vast city built between the 11th and 15th centuries by a Shona civilization. These structures are remarkable for their scale and the sophisticated dry-stone masonry techniques employed in their construction. The ruins are divided into three main areas: the Hill Complex, the Great Enclosure, and the Valley Ruins. The Hill Complex is believed to have been the spiritual center and royal residence, featuring intricate walls and enclosures. The Great Enclosure is the largest single ancient structure south of the Sahara Desert, with impressive walls that reach up to 11 meters high and are over 5 meters thick in places.
