Marehan
The Marehan are a Somali clan and one of the major subclans of the Darod clan-family. They are traditionally associated with the southern regions of Somalia and have long been part of the country’s social and political fabric. Like other Somali groups, the Marehan are predominantly Muslim and speak Somali. Their social structure is organized around extended family lineages and subclans, with customary law (Xeer) guiding community relations and conflicts.
