ManifestProvided

Manifestprovided is a term used in some software packaging and deployment systems to denote a marker or convention by which a module’s manifest lists the capabilities, services, or resources that it provides to other modules. The concept supports capability-based provisioning and dependency resolution, enabling decoupling between consumers and providers.

In practice, a manifest might include an entry such as “Manifest-Provided: [LoggingService, DataStore]” or “Provides: com.example.LoggingService.” The runtime or build system uses these declarations to satisfy dependencies declared elsewhere as requires or depends_on on the corresponding capability. This approach helps systems match providers to consumers without binding to specific implementations.

The term is not standardized across ecosystems, and labeling and syntax vary. Some systems use Manifest-Provided, others use Provides, Exports, Capabilities, or similar phrases. The general idea appears in module and plugin ecosystems that separate interface from implementation and manage provisioning through explicit manifests or descriptors.
