Mandulagyullitus
Mandulagyulladás, commonly known as tonsillitis, is an inflammation of the tonsils, which are two oval-shaped pads of lymphoid tissue located at the back of the throat. This condition is most frequently caused by viral infections, such as the common cold or influenza, but can also be triggered by bacterial infections, most notably Streptococcus pyogenes (Group A Streptococcus). Symptoms can vary in severity but typically include a sore throat, difficulty swallowing, fever, swollen and red tonsils, and sometimes white or yellow patches or streaks on the tonsils. Swollen lymph nodes in the neck may also be present.
Diagnosis is usually made through a physical examination of the throat and a review of symptoms. In
