Malygos

Malygos, also known as the Spell-Weaver, was the Aspect of Magic and the leader of the Blue Dragonflight. He was a colossal dragon, larger than most of his brethren, with scales of deep sapphire and eyes that shimmered with arcane energy. Malygos was ancient and possessed an intellect that rivaled that of the most powerful sorcerers. His primary concern was the preservation and proper use of magic throughout Azeroth.

For millennia, Malygos was a guardian, ensuring that magic did not fall into the wrong hands or become a destructive force. However, the Sundering, a cataclysmic event that shattered the world, deeply affected him. He witnessed the uncontrolled and devastating consequences of magic, leading him to become increasingly isolationist and distrustful of mortals.

His concern for magic's misuse escalated into an obsession. After the return of Deathwing, Malygos believed that the only way to protect magic was to control its flow entirely. He initiated the Nexus War, seeking to harness the Well of Eternity's power and channel all of Azeroth's magic through the Nexus, his fortress. This audacious plan brought him into direct conflict with the mortal races and other dragonflights, who saw his actions as a tyrannical attempt to hoard and dictate the very essence of magic. His ultimate goal was to become the sole arbiter of magical power, believing it was the only path to prevent another world-ending catastrophe.
