Makerere

Makerere is a public research university located in Kampala, Uganda. It is one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions of higher learning in Africa. Founded in 1922 as a technical school, it evolved into a university college in 1949 and gained full university status in 1970. Makerere has played a significant role in the development of Uganda and the broader East African region, producing numerous leaders in politics, science, arts, and business.

The university is organized into several colleges and faculties, offering a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
