Mahabalipuram
Mahabalipuram, also known as Mamallapuram, is a coastal town in the Kanchipuram district of Tamil Nadu, India, situated on the Bay of Bengal about 60 kilometers south of Chennai. It is renowned for a group of monuments built by the Pallava dynasty in the 7th and 8th centuries, which has earned UNESCO World Heritage status as the Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram.
