Magyarítások refers to the process of Magyarization, which involves the assimilation of non-Hungarian peoples living within Hungary into Hungarian culture and language. Historically, this concept has manifested in various ways, particularly during periods of heightened nationalism. The most significant period of organized Magyarization was in the late 19th and early 20th centuries under the Austro-Hungarian Empire. This involved policies aimed at promoting the Hungarian language in administration, education, and public life.

The objective was to foster a unified national identity by encouraging minority groups to adopt Hungarian customs, names, and speech.
