Magustoidu

Magustoidu is the term used in Estonian to refer to a dessert. In Estonian culinary terminology, magustoit is the final course in a meal, usually but not exclusively sweet, and magustoidu is the genitive form used in phrases such as magustoidu valik (the dessert selection) or magustoidu valmistamine (the preparation of a dessert). Desserts in this context cover a broad range of sweet dishes served after the main course.

Common forms include fruit-based desserts such as compotes and baked fruit, dairy-based creations such as kohupiim (curd cheese) creams and puddings, pastries and cakes, and traditional preparations based on grains or seeds.
