This method involves using magnetic particles that can be magnetized to represent binary data. The process of writing data to a magnetic storage device involves using a write head to magnetize the particles on the disk. The orientation of the magnetic particles represents the binary data, with one orientation typically representing a '0' and the opposite orientation representing a '1'. To read the data, a read head detects the magnetic orientation of the particles and converts it back into binary data.

Magnetic storage is known for its high storage capacity and relatively low cost per gigabyte. However, it has some limitations, including slower data access times compared to solid-state drives (SSDs) and a higher risk of data loss due to physical damage to the disk or exposure to strong magnetic fields.

Despite these limitations, magnetic storage remains a widely used technology in various applications, including personal computers, servers, and data centers.
