MELDlaskenta
MELDlaskenta is a term that refers to the calculation or estimation of the Model for End-Stage Liver Disease (MELD) score. The MELD score is a numerical scale used to prioritize patients for liver transplantation. It is a prognostic indicator that predicts the short-term mortality risk of individuals with end-stage liver disease. The score is calculated using a formula that takes into account a patient's serum bilirubin, serum creatinine, and the international normalized ratio (INR) of prothrombin time. In some cases, a patient's sodium level may also be included in the calculation, leading to a MELD-Na score.
The MELD score ranges from 6 to 40, with higher scores indicating a greater likelihood of death
