Lösungenfärben

Lösungenfärben, also known as solution dyeing or dope dyeing, is a coloration process used for synthetic fibers and plastics. In this method, the colorant is dissolved in the liquid polymer melt or spinning solution before the fiber or plastic is extruded. This contrasts with traditional dyeing methods where the color is applied to the finished material.

The process involves adding pigments or dyes directly to the polymer precursor during its manufacturing stage. For instance, in the production of polyester fibers, colorants are mixed into the molten polyester before it is spun into filaments. The resulting colored material is homogeneous throughout, meaning the color is integral to the material's structure.

Key advantages of Lösungenfärben include superior colorfastness, as the color is locked within the polymer matrix and is less prone to fading from UV light, washing, or chemical exposure. This method also tends to be more environmentally friendly due to reduced water consumption and wastewater generation compared to conventional piece dyeing. The process is efficient for large production runs and produces consistent color results.
