Lõpprendtransi

Lõpprendtransi is an Estonian term that translates to "end-of-lease transfer" or "final lease transfer." It refers to the process where ownership of an asset, typically a vehicle, is transferred from a leasing company to the lessee at the conclusion of a lease agreement. This option is often presented to lessees at the end of their contract, allowing them to purchase the asset for a predetermined residual value.

The lõpprendtransi process usually involves a final payment by the lessee to the leasing company, covering the residual value and any outstanding fees or charges. Once this payment is made, the leasing company relinquishes ownership, and the asset is legally transferred to the lessee. This transfer necessitates updating registration documents and ensuring all legal requirements are met.

This arrangement is common in vehicle leasing, where individuals or businesses can choose to buy the car they have been leasing. It provides an avenue for asset ownership without the initial high cost of outright purchase. However, the residual value is set at the beginning of the lease, and its fairness can be a consideration for the lessee.
