Läpimenojännite
Läpimenojännite, often translated as breakdown voltage or dielectric strength, refers to the maximum electric field strength that a material can withstand without losing its insulating properties. When an electric field applied across an insulating material exceeds its läpimenojännite, the material undergoes a rapid decrease in resistance, becoming conductive. This phenomenon is also known as dielectric breakdown.
The läpimenojännite is a critical parameter in the design and application of electrical insulation. It determines
Dielectric breakdown can be a permanent or temporary process. In some cases, the material may recover its
