Lämpötilaventtiili

A lämpötilaventtiili, which translates to temperature control valve or thermostatic valve in English, is a regulating device designed to maintain a specific temperature. These valves automatically adjust the flow of a fluid, typically water or steam, to achieve and maintain a desired temperature in a system. They are commonly employed in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, as well as in domestic hot water systems and industrial processes.

The core component of a lämpötilaventtiili is often a thermostatic element, such as a wax-filled capsule or a bimetallic spring. As the temperature of the fluid changes, this element expands or contracts, actuating the valve mechanism. This action either restricts or increases the flow of the fluid, thereby counteracting temperature fluctuations and keeping the output at the set point. For example, in a radiator valve, the thermostatic element senses the room air temperature and adjusts the flow of hot water to the radiator accordingly, preventing overheating or underheating.
