Lähtöresistanssi

Lähtöresistanssi, sometimes translated as output impedance or output resistance, is a fundamental parameter in electronics that describes the resistance seen by a load connected to the output of an electronic device, such as an amplifier or a power supply. It is typically measured in ohms.

This resistance arises from the internal workings of the device. For example, in an amplifier, it's related to the output stage components. A lower lähtöresistanssi is generally desirable in many applications. This is because it allows more power to be transferred to the load, especially when the load's impedance is matched or close to the source's impedance. It also helps to maintain a stable output voltage or current, regardless of variations in the load.

In audio systems, for instance, a low lähtöresistanssi from an amplifier ensures that the speaker receives a consistent signal and that the sound quality is not degraded by the amplifier's internal resistance. For power supplies, a low lähtöresistanssi means the output voltage will not sag significantly when the supply is called upon to deliver more current. Conversely, in some specific circuits, a higher lähtöresistanssi might be intentionally designed for particular signal conditioning purposes.
