Lylat

Lylat is a fictional star system featured in the Lylat Wars (or Star Fox) video game series. It is home to a variety of planets, moons, and celestial bodies, many of which serve as locations for the games' missions. The system is characterized by its diverse environments, ranging from lush, Earth-like planets to desolate, volcanic worlds and even artificial space stations.

The primary inhabitants of the Lylat System are the Cornerians, an anthropomorphic species that resembles dogs and are the dominant civilization. They have established a galactic empire and are frequently embroiled in conflicts. Other notable species within the Lylat System include the furry, fox-like inhabitants of the planet Furry, the ape-like Aparoids who pose a significant threat in some installments, and various alien races encountered throughout the series.

The Lylat System is often the setting for the ongoing struggle between the Cornerian Defense Force, led by the Cornerian army and the agile Star Fox team, and various antagonistic forces. The most recurring antagonist is the villainous Andross, a former Cornerian scientist who was exiled for his unethical experiments and now seeks to conquer the system. The Lylat System's fate is repeatedly tied to the outcome of these battles, with the Star Fox team often being the last line of defense against total annihilation. Its varied landscapes and unique inhabitants have made it a memorable backdrop for the series' aerial combat and adventure.
