Luunmuodostuskykyä refers to the biological capacity of bone tissue to form new bone. This process, also known as ossification or osteogenesis, is essential throughout an organism's life for growth, repair, and adaptation. In embryonic development, bone forms through two primary mechanisms: intramembranous ossification, where mesenchymal cells directly differentiate into osteoblasts, and endochondral ossification, where a cartilage model is gradually replaced by bone.
