Luovanian is a fictional ethnolinguistic designation used in worldbuilding, literature, and role-playing to describe the people, language, and culture associated with the Luovan Archipelago, a purported maritime region. The term combines the archipelago's name with the suffix -ian to indicate belonging.

Geography and settlement: The Luovan Archipelago comprises about a dozen main islands and numerous islets, located in a temperate maritime zone. Towns cluster along sheltered inlets, with dense forests inland. The sea provides most livelihoods, supplemented by farming on terraces and trade.

Language: The Luovanian language, or Luovan, is a constructed language with agglutinative morphology and a predominantly SVO syntax. It features vowel harmony, a modest case system in nouns, and a Latin-based writing system with diacritics for stressed syllables. Dialects include Northern Luovanian and Coastal Luovanian.

Culture and society: Luovanian communities organize around island towns governed by councils that balance customary law with pragmatic governance. Social life centers on family clans and seafaring traditions. Artisans produce woodwork, textiles, and boats, and seasonal festivals celebrate tides, harvests, and ancestry.
